Let’s get started.

Watercolor

Oil

An oil painting is a classic choice for a painting. Painted on a stretched canvas, oil is a traditional method for creating a painting. Oil allows for texture and detail in a rich form of vibrant colors.

A watercolor painting is a quicker option that captures more transparent and lighter images. Watercolor is sometimes paired with ink to provide more detail and flare.

Maybe you know exactly what you want or maybe you are still looking for ideas. Either way, I’m happy to brainstorm with you. My process includes a photograph to paint from. I’ll help you find the perfect subject or take my own photos for reference. Below: The first image of the cat is an image and the second image is the painting.

Subject

You might have a specific timeline in mind for your finished painting if it’s a gift for a special occasion. Oil paintings take several months to allow for ample drying time and varnishing. Watercolor paintings can be produced much faster. Don’t have a specific timeline? Even better!

Timeline

When a painting is finished, I let you decide the finishing touches because everyone has their own style. I am happy to advise on what would work best for your painting. Watercolor paintings look great with a contrasting mat while oil paintings just need a frame.
